Ugh

I found an exploit that was installed into the code of Hemiweb.com.

Had to rebuild from scratch I hope I got it all. Sadly it broke the images in the process. Stay tuned as I fix that all up. May take a while as I am short on time. Bear with me.

Cpanel for Iphone

Check this out!

http://cpaneliphone.com/

Do you have a hosting account with a few websites?

Do you host for your clients and wish that you could manage on the go? Well you can now! Cpanel, and WHM (Web Host Manager) are available on the App Store and Cydia now.

I have yet to buy it, but looking at the pic it shows all the popular functions.

From the site

CPanel WHM ($4.99)
CPanel WHM allows you to control your CPanel WHM account. This allows you to connect to your server and carry out various functions. Allows you to carry out tasks on the moves. To use CPanel WHM you must have CPanel WHM installed on your connection server. Otherwise the application will not work.

CPanel ($2.99)
CPanel allows you to carry out the function over your standard CPanel take a look at App Store screen shots for more.

CPanel Lite (Free)
CPanel Lite is a free application which allows you to view the bandwidth and current disk space of your account via access to your CPanel on your phone. Its light and a handy application if your on the go.

I am pretty sure I will be buying the WHM version as I just opened a new reseller account with www.yourdomaingoeshere.com so I may need it.

Yes, that’s the name. New company that I feel will be off and running very fast. I feel strongly about that. They don’t have an affiliate program, so I’m just telling you as I see it. No strings attached. Check them out and tell Corey I said hi!

New iPhone, new coolness.

Well I did it. I went out and got an iPhone.
I’ve had a iPod touch for some time but as most of you know the phone has much more. this is not a review about the phone but what it ca do on Wordpress.
I downloaded an app that allows you to ost to any of your blogs. similar to Microsoft Live writer, you add all of your acounts, choose post or page and it lists your existing ones. with the touch of a button you can add a new one with the options to post, save local draft, save blog draft and more.
I just took a photo of myself, now how to post it?

AHA!

well this is a very simple editor and that about covers it.

Classipress (affiliate link) just announced that the much anticipated 3.0 version is soon to come. A heated discussion still leaves us wondering when it will arrive but a new screenshot has prompted this customer to upgrade his single license to a developer license.

The new version will most likely result in a price hike and it has been suggested that anyone wanting to get in on the new look and functions to upgrade now to beat the price uppage.

Pop over to http://wpclassipress.com/sneek-peek-at-classipress-3-0/ to see the new shots.

Testing out Adobe Contribute

,,,,

I just discovered that Adobe has a tool that is similar to Microsoft Live Writer. It is called Contribute. This allows for a team of editors, writers and reviewers to work on a web site and edit the content. It connects to your blog similarly to Live Writer but instead of just giving you a blank page to edit on you get a view of what looks like your blog. For example, here I am editing this article and I see to the right, my 2 columns with Recent Posts and the I Approve items.

I’ll just add an image here; OK, I needed to allow image and other media toa enable me to upload an image. Not very intuitive.

The application allows for Tables to be created, which is nice….Here’s one

Item 1 2 and a third item
look  its more stuff!
easily tabb from one square to another.

Seems pretty standard.

I’m looking for a preview button to show me "in a browser" what my post will look like. Live Writer has it, where is it in Contribute? It does not seem to have one, that I can locate. I guess it just assumes that since your edit page looks llike your web site you don’t need an actual in-browser view. Well they are WRONG! I like to see what I am editing in the browser since the way your browser displays it will no-doubt be different than the application displays it.

Using the dialog called Enclosure I thought it would allow me to insert a You Tube video. It does not. it wants to upload a sound or video file. I guess it then places that file into its own player. must find a vid…well I added an ‘enclosure’ but nothing seems to have happened. This is what you get without reading the manual.

OK Publishing this to see what happens!

SEOSEMLinks.com

Seo Sem Links is my newest project. A link directory (don’t moan yet). I spent a lot of time searching for that perfect software, separate from Wordpress, to run on it’s own. I was even willing to pay (a bit). Why separate from Wordpress? I don’t really know. I just didn’t think that a system existed in Wordpress that could handle what I wanted. Little did I know, it does exist.

Directorypress is a theme that transforms your Wordpress website into a robust and feature-full directory. The software allows you to set it up as a free-to-submit link list or a pay-for-rank site. If you visit SEOSEMLinks.com you will see that it has a definite Web 2.0 look with the larger font, interactivity, and bolder fields.

The items are set up as posts in your “blog” and are can be submitted either by the Submit Listing button or through your admin panel. The template comes with page templates allowing you to automatically create your submission, About, Articles, My Listings and more.

The only thing that I have found that needs automation is the featured listings and a few other admin items where you have to manually enter in the page numbers. Other than that I am quite happy with it.

While your over looking at SEOSEMLinks.com, feel free to submit some listings of your favorite sites and tools. For the time being the listings are going to be free.

Have you tried out the Directorypress theme or any other Directory? Tell us about it.

Problogger.com forum. Join it.

A few weeks ago I got an email from Darren Rowse informing me that as a member of the “31 Days to a Better Blog” program that I could get a deal on joining the premium forum at Problogger.com

This is the best $2 you will spend this month. It’s a cup of coffee. And what will you get for a cup of coffee? Some excellent topics that get commented on by some of the leading bloggers out there. There are many (mostly) beginners and slow growers (like me) that want to know how to do it right. There are lots of successful bloggers there to answer your questions. No topic is taboo and everyone is treated fairly.

The community is already huge with more than 2000 members so rarely does a topic go unanswered.

I stronly urge you take advantage of this resource as it will be priceless.

Social Media Marketing

A friend asked me to explain to him how social media could help his wife’s online shop. After I replied, I thought that my reply would make a great post on Hemiweb! So here it is.

basic principle of online marketing is to get your name seen anywhere and everywhere.
If liz ahs alot of repeat customers the social media will work really well.
Course of action:
Get a company account for twitter.
get a fan page on facebook.
start posting. What she will want to do is to make sure any specials are advertised through twitter with a short link to her site. she can use something like http://bit.ly/ unless her links are not long to begin with.
With Wordpress (the website your and my websites are built on) there is a plug in that will post to facebook and twitter as soon as a post is made to the blog.
Anyways, how does it drive you traffic?
twitter and facebook both work on the same principle. Followers and friends. when someone chooses to follow you on twitter, that person’s followers will see your posts on the frieneds page. When a person decides to follow your fan page in facebook all of that person’s friends get an update saying that Joe has joined the Wig-Out.com fan page.
Now 30 more people know about the website and maybe 1 or 2 new people will check it out.
Having the twitter and facebook also gives her a chance to connect to her customers if someone comments on one of her posts, she has to be sure to comment back! this is very important so people see that there is a person behind the business.

Query: How well do you find Twitter and Facebook work for your site?

Ebay Affiliate Program says NO!

Well, I got my answer:

“Thank you for applying to the eBay Partner Network. We regret to inform you that we cannot accept your application at this time.”

It seems I forgot to read the fine print.

I tried to gain access for a future venture. Little did I know that they wanted websites with a history. My bad and I fully understand. As Mark says in his 7 Tips page, “Your Site should Bring Value TO eBay, Not the other way around!” So this program is not a way to make money, though do, its a way to make eBay money. I’m ok with that. I will try again in a while, after I have driven enough traffic.

What is enough traffic?; you ask? If I remember right, after you fill in the form it gives you some information on what you should have for a website and they mention something like 10000 page views a day, or was that a month. (I hope the latter and not the former). If you know for sure, leave us a comment.

I should have read a few pages like:
